At Seed & Path we strive to use Reiki, meditation, and wellness coaching to balance the body, mind, and spirit and create a space for harmony and health. Reiki is a beautiful practice that can be used by anyone to heal, and become more balanced. It helps to remove the harmful build up that stress causes in our system.

Matthew Wootten

Usui Reiki Master, Shamanic Reiki Master

My name is Matthew Wootten, Owner of Seed and Path. I have been practicing Reiki since 2002. I was introduced to Reiki in a meditation group and immediately fell in love with the system. I was diagnosed at age 3 with Cerebral Palsy and had been suffering from muscle spasms and constricted tendons in the right side of my body for as long as I can remember. My childhood was filled with physical and occupational therapy to help fix my body but, at the age 12, its effectiveness had run its course. My body couldn't improve any further without invasive surgeries or large doses of medication. Essentially western medicine had no cure to offer me.

Reiki introduced me to an entirely new way of viewing my life. By taking the precepts, “Just for today...I will not be angry, I will not worry, I will be grateful, I will do my work honestly, I will be kind to every living thing,” and working with the energy of Reiki, I was able to feel immediate change in my body. When I would give or receive a treatment my spasms wouldn't bother me as much. I would feel more relaxed and balanced. It became my primary tool for coping with my symptoms and stresses.

As I got older and my symptoms evolved I used Reiki in meditation, yoga, martial arts, and massage to help cope with the chronic pain and neuropathy. I use Reiki when I’m cooking, I give it to my dogs and other animals. It is a wonderful energy that balances and helps to bring you back into harmony.

I am passionate about helping others dealing with chronic conditions. I love giving Reiki to animals and their owners, and teaching the owners how they can do the same. I believe that Reiki fits wonderful into the healthcare system. It provides a valuable self-care tool that helps to combat caregiver fatigue. It also has a profound effect on people with illness or disease. There is also notable benefits for Alzheimer's and dementia patients. It helps with emotional trauma and can aid in self-reflection and self-esteem development.

I am grateful to be able to share my practice in a way that can benefit everyone. I am excited to help plant the seed of healing in the world and I am dedicated to nurturing others on their paths as they do the same.

Nathan Wootten

Reiki Practitioner

Hello and welcome!  Nathan, or Nate, here.  I am Matthew's twin brother.  My first experience with Reiki came after a hernia repair surgery in 2001 and I was instantly hooked.  I was lucky to have my first one on one Usui Reiki attunement in Salem, NH shortly after my recovery and started working mostly on myself and my pets.  After about 15 years paying the bills as a Restaurant Manager, I ruptured two vertebrae in my neck while at work.  After over a year of every non-invasive treatment available with little to no symptom relief I had the spinal fusion surgery. Then it was another year of physical therapy and I still couldn't get through a single shift at work.  The doctor told me that I might stop hurting in 3-5 years and I should just live my life...  So I have been dealing with chronic pain and nerve problems ever since.  Reiki and Meditation have been the tools that allowed me to take my life back, stop letting the pain be in control, and start to make the most out of every day that I have.  Now I work from home at my fledgling hobby farm, tending chickens, growing more than 30 varieties of vegetables, flowers, and herbs; and doing Reiki with my brother!  I truly am grateful for this opportunity to share Reiki with more people, and hopefully help some people that might be feeling as lost or helpless as I did in the healthcare system.
